I also made my own hieroglyphics stamp from a wooden block from JoAnn and crafters foam sheet cutouts from the Dollar Tree. This six sided stamp cost me $2.00! All you need to do is cut out the shapes of hieroglyphics that you find online and glue a different one onto each side of the block. I got this idea from a similar project that Stephanie from Harrington Harmonies did with her kids in studying the Ancient World.
We are also making a Passport to the Ancient World with a free printable from www.chillola.com. You can see a picture of it above on the right. I made another 6 sided stamp using a wooden block and foam sheets for the country stamps.
We are off to a great start and I know we are going to love this unit on Egypt! I will post more as we go deeper into this study but here are a few additional free resources that we found useful:
